Overview of Overseas Korean Foundation (OKF)
The Overseas Koreans foundation is a non-profit organization, affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Korea. The organization was founded in October of 1997 in accordance with the laws designed specifically for foundations intended for overseas Koreans, is soley committed to providing support to 7 millions Koreans all around the world. Their main projects include Future Leaders Conference, HanSang (Korean Business), World Korean Association Presidents’ Conference, and many others.
OKF is JoinTheLeaders’ official sponsor for our “Follow The Leaders” project.

About Future Leaders conference (FLC)
In its 13 years of existence, OKF hosted a conference with highly influential guests again. Through this conference, the organization hopes to invite future leaders in the areas of politics, society, and economy, so that they can promote growth and strengthen the overseas Korean society. This year’s conference was hosted in Seoul from July 26th to 29th, 2010.
The program of the conference included:
- Forums on various overseas Korean issues
- Honorary visit to the Prime Minister of Korea
- G20 Seoul Submit presentation
- Welcome Luncheon with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Korea
- Brewing Makgeoli, Making Korean Traditional Foods, NamSan Hanok Village experience
- Visiting DMZ JSA
